For centuries, human civilization has been altering the atmosphere and ecosystems around the planet. The burning of fossil fuels, overfishing, deforestation, and degradation of watersheds globally have resulted in Climate Change and the degradation of approximately 40% of the surface of the planet. To reverse these impacts, ecological engineering approaches can be used to sequester carbon and restore ecosystems and the atmosphere.
